Coordinated School Health:

SPCHEO promotes and advocates for a process called the Coordinated School Health Model. The Coordinated School Health Model is a planned program designed to enhance the health promoting nature of a school district by altering the culture or environment of the school and surrounding community. A team of people, representing the following eight areas within the school and community, make up the Coordinated School Health Model:

  • School Nutrition Services
  • Physical Education
  • Health Education
  • Health Services
  • Counseling, Psychological and Social Services
  • Healthy School Environment
  • Health Promotion for Staff
  • Family/Community Involvement
