Coordinated School Health:
SPCHEO promotes and advocates for a process called the Coordinated School
Health Model. The Coordinated School Health Model is a planned program designed
to enhance the health promoting nature of a school district by altering the culture
or environment of the school and surrounding community. A team of people, representing
the following eight areas within the school and community, make up the
Coordinated School Health Model:
- School Nutrition Services
- Physical Education
- Health Education
- Health Services
- Counseling, Psychological and Social Services
- Healthy School Environment
- Health Promotion for Staff
- Family/Community Involvement
